Never thought it would happen to me

I am 48 years old, and I never thought I’d be crippled by pain in my 40’s. I finally got a diagnosis of fibromyalgia after 8 years of complaining to my GP & a trip to the ER. Lucky for me, that ER trip got me a referral to the Pain Clinic and I met the doctors who have been able to help. My GP could only suggest opiates & muscle relaxants, and the pain clinic at least would try alternate therapies that sort of work. I wish they would prescribe actual cannabis instead of nabilone, because nabilone has caused me to have major digestive issues and gain so much weight - I’m about 40 pounds heavier than this time last year. My pain is still not as well controlled as I’d like, and I worry about what will happen as I get older. I can only imagine that my discomfort will increase with age, and that’s a huge worry for the future.
